MIA North Terminal Development

The 1.3 mile long and $3 billion North Terminal comprised of 3.6 million SF of facility provides 50 dual use gates, a 72 lane Federal Inspection Facility (FIS) facility capable of processing over 2,000 international passengers per hour, 278 ticketing positions (including 126 self service units), a new baggage handling system (BHS) with over 10 miles of conveyors capable of handling 6,400 bags per hour, an Automated People Mover (APM) system with capacity to carry 9,000 passengers per hour and support systems capable of handling an international hub operation of 400+ flights per day. The North Terminal Program has won a number of awards and recognitions, including:
